Apogee MQ-200 Instruments Quantum Meter Separate Sensor with Handheld Meter

The MQ-200 is a handheld quantum meter designed to provide accurate measurements of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), which is crucial for plant growth. It measures the photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD) in units of micromoles per square meter per second (µmol m⁻² s⁻¹).  

Key Features and Applications

• Design: It features a separate, dome-shaped sensor connected to a handheld meter. This sensor is waterproof, weatherproof, and self-cleaning, making it durable for various environments, including underwater.  
• Measurement Capabilities: The meter is designed to measure PAR under specific light sources, particularly sunlight, metal halide, and high-pressure sodium lights. It has a measurement range of 0 to 2999 µmol m⁻² s⁻¹.  
• Data Logging: The device has both sample and log modes. It can store up to 99 manual measurements and can be set to automatically log averages every 30 minutes. To download the data, you need the AC-100 communication cable and ApogeeAMS software.  
• Applications:
  • Measuring PPFD over plant canopies in greenhouses, growth chambers, and outdoor fields.
  • Assessing light conditions in aquatic environments, such as saltwater aquariums where corals are grown.
